European Patent Office
During my last semester at the Escuela Politécnica de Castelldefels I took my attention a job offer to work abroad, for the European Patent Office. After a telephone interview that tested my knowledge of networking I was hired by this organization for a 6-month internship at The Hague, Netherlands.
The European Patent Office is an agency which approves patents for member states of the European Patent Convention, with a staff that rounds 6500 people, is one of the largest European organizations. It is also an excellent place to work, which have many advantages as a worker and a very enrichful atmosphere.
My experience in the EPO was fantastic, especially with people I met there, and for being my first international experience. I keep fond memories of that half a year in Holland and at a professional level, I developed my capacity for analysis and synthesis of technical documentation, as well as a familiarity with language and processes related to the intellectual property protection.
Rational Time
As a result of the research carried out within the UPC about working time planning, was born in 2007 the Spin-Off which is intended to help companies to a better use of their human resources. A project that my working group at the UPC had a great relationship with, because it was our initiative to develop a business plan during the school year.
My partnership there was temporary, dedicated to develop a Web site for an event organized by Rational Time. They are still struggling to break into the difficult field of business oriented applications.
